Broken Bow Fire and Rescue to escort James Bissonette home

A town in central Nebraska is honoring a fallen hero.

BROKEN BOW, Neb. -- A town in central Nebraska is honoring a fallen hero.

The Broken Bow Fire Department will be honoring James Bissonette today by bringing the fallen firefighter home.

Bissonette died this week after a month-long battle with COVID-19.

Firefighters will meet the family at the Custer-Sherman County line on Highway 2, where they will then escort Bissonette's body to Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.

Residents are urged to safely line the streets to honor the fallen hero.

The motorcade will arrive in Broken Bow around 4:00 p.m. They will travel west on Highway 2, through downtown, and south on 8th Street.
