Addyson Gyhra named Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete for competitive dance

Addyson Gyhra (Auburn) became the first-ever Bobcat competitive dance team member to earn the NAIA recognition. Peru State's competitive dance team was in its first competitive year during the 2020-21 academic year.

(Peru, Neb.) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on its National Awards Day that over 11,000 student-athletes were named as 2020-21 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
 
Addyson Gyhra (Auburn) became the first-ever Bobcat competitive dance team member to earn the NAIA recognition. Peru State's competitive dance team was in its first competitive year during the 2020-21 academic year.

Gyhra is a junior elementary education major.
 
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
 
Along with her dance teammates, Gyhra and the Bobcat dance team were named as a 2020-21 Scholar Team. The 'Cats finished with a 3.53 composite team grade point average – the second-highest among the 13 Bobcat athletic programs.
