BEATRICE - Coach Carper's squad is off to a solid start to the season after a sweep of the Plattsmouth Blue Devils Tuesday night.

Beatrice remains perfect on the year, having not lost a set, as they swept Crete last Thursday and did the same to Plattsmouth Tuesday. The Lady Orange dominated sets one and two, winning set one 25-13, then 25-18 in set two. However, as they did against Crete, Beatrice faced a good challenge and got everything the Blue Devils had in the third set. Despite trailing by as much as seven, Beatrice rebounded to earn the 25-22 victory to lock up the sweep.

Ellie Jurgens and Chelsea Leners were dominant from the service line, while Beatrice had solid front row play all night long. Freshman Annie Gleason utilized her 5'10" height to her advantage, as she recorded six blocks on the night. In addition, Ellie Jurgens and Annie Gleason led the way in kills, both with 11 each.

Beatrice is back in action on Saturday, as they get set to welcome Gross Catholic.
