The beginning of the week is bringing some potentially dangerous summer heat to Nebraska.

The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories for most of the state until Wednesday evening.

Forecasters say daytime heat index values could get as high as 100 degrees, meaning there's a higher probability for heat illness.

Health experts say to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. They also say to try to reschedule any strenuous outdoor activities to early morning or late afternoon.
