LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln Public Schools is pulling the high school remote learning program for the 2021-22 school year.

LPS made the announcement Wednesday afternoon, citing three main reasons for the decision: student comprehension, workforce and resources.

In a recent statement, the district commented that "too many of remote high school students are disengaged, and learning loss is evident."

Officials also say schools were having a hard time filling the number of teaching positions for the program.

The remote option will still be available for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
