WICHITA, KS - Beatrice High graduate Addison Barnard continues to make waves in her first season playing college softball.

The 5-foot-6 freshman smacked her 17th long ball of the season yesterday, giving her the single-season home run record at Wichita State. The dinger was enough to give the Shockers a 4-3 win over Kansas City. Wichita State is 29-5 and ranked 25th in the country.

In addition to hitting it over the fence, Barnard is batting .320 with a team-high 43 RBIs. 17 of her 31 hits have left the yard. The Shockers still have 17 games remaining on their regular season schedule.

At Beatrice, Barnard was a four-year starter and two-time First Team Class B selection. She hold the school's career home run record with 61 round-trippers.
