RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM CDT MONDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR EASTERN NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA...
The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Red
Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from noon to 9 PM CDT Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no
longer in effect.
* Affected Area...Southeast Nebraska, Southwest Iowa, and Northwest Missouri
* Winds...From the southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to
50 mph.
* Relative Humidity...As low as 20 to 25 percent.
* Impacts...Any fires that ignite may spread rapidly and exhibit
extreme fire behavior.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 7 PM CDT MONDAY...
* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa, and northwest Missouri.
* WHEN...From noon to 7 PM CDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strong winds in conjunction with low
relative humidity and warm temperatures will result in dangerous
fire weather conditions.
