Asphalt/Concrete plant permit approved by Gage County Board

Plant to be utilized for U.S. Highway 77 construction this year, between Pickrell and Nebraska Highway 41

BEATRICE – The Gage County Board has approved a special use permit for a temporary asphalt and concrete plant to be used this year on two major highway projects in the area. 

The permit, sought by Werner Construction of Hastings, was given formal approval by the supervisors.   The plant will be located along Nebraska Highway 41 near Clatonia. 

It will be used in U.S. Highway 77 construction work between Pickrell and Nebraska 41…..along with a highway project near Barneston.

New officers were selected by the Gage County Planning and Zoning Commission Tuesday night.   Jeff Argo will serve as Commission Chairperson this year, while Monte Murkle will continue to serve as Vice-Chairman. 

The county board today elected Supervisors Chairman Erich Tiemann to be the county’s voting representative at next week’s annual meeting of Gage Area Growth Enterprise.   The annual meeting of NGage will be the evening of February 16th, at Classic’s Restaurant in Beatrice.
