Chadron slips against Comets in home finale

Trailing just 42-38 heading into the 4th quarter, Chadron was outscored 15-5 over the final eight minutes as they fell to Rapid City Christian 57-43 on Friday night.

Chadron stayed right on the heels of the Comets through the first half trailing by eight at both the end of the first quarter and at halftime.

As the Cardinals built momentum in the 3rd quarter, they closed the gap to 40-38 before the RCC got the final basket of the quarter.

A pair of made baskets were all that Chadron could hit in the 4th quarter to lose their 4th straight game.

Justus Alcorn was the only Cardinals in double figures with 17 points.

Now at 9-9, Chadron travels to Valentine on Saturday.

Rapid City Christian runs away from Chadron girls

The Rapid City Christian duo of Olivia Kieffer and Alexa Ham combined for 42 points as the Lady Comets took down Chadron in the home final 52-27 on Friday night.

Chadron had a tough time at the basket, continually watching shots spin around and out of the hoop.

The Comets started the game on an 18-2 run, the Cards responded with a 12-2 run that pulled the score to within six part ways through the 2nd quarter. Another run, this time 15-4, put RCC up by 17 at the half.

Chadron never threatened in the 3rd and 4th quarters as the margin quickly jumped over 20 points.

In her final game at the Bird Cage lone Senior Anika Burke led Chadron with 6 points.

The Cardinals are now 11-7 on the season and travel to Valentine on Saturday.
