OMAHA, Neb. -- It will be months before a road in Omaha will be repaired. The street collapsed Tuesday morning after a drainage pipe caved in.

A large hole south of the 36th Street intersection with Ponca Road is all that remains of the stretch of roadway. Traffic will be diverted for months as repairs are made.

Emergency crews say the road closure will slow the response to calls on the other side of the collapse.

Engineers plan to study the site and determine the structure that should be installed there.
