School spending could be a target of Gov. Pete Ricketts's aims to slash property taxes.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- With state lawmakers arriving back at their desks in Lincoln today, Governor Pete Ricketts is hoping property tax relief on their minds.

But he also wants to stop what he says is unnecessary spending outside the Capitol.
