Norfolk Man Charged in Hit and Run

Norfolk, NE - A Northeast Nebraskan is facing drinking and driving charges after he hit a car Monday afternoon. 

NPD said they were responding to a call about a swerving car when it hit another car at an intersection near Ta Ha Zouka Park. The car left the scene, but witnesses helped track down 21 year old Jose Lance nearby. 

Lance got out of his car and tried to run from officers. Once caught, he refused to stand up or move and claimed he could not move. 

NPD said they found alcohol and a revoked license in his car. 

Lance was arrested for failure to stop at injury accident, driving during a period of revocation, driving under the influence of alcohol 1st , and obstructing a police officer. He was also cited for willful reckless driving and no valid registration.

Lance is currently at the Madison County Jail.
