The four inches of snow in Stanton County on Tuesday caused travel headaches throughout the day and resulted in many cars going into the ditch.
The Stanton County Sheriff's office reported a jackknifed semi-truck on Highway 275 near Pilger. The Sheriff’s office also responded to a car fire on eastbound Hwy 275 near Crown Road at about 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon that partially blocked the highway for about an hour.
With sunny conditions, parts of the snow and ice are melting this afternoon, but authorities warn that that could create the potential for more icy conditions tonight and tomorrow morning, with temperatures expected to dip below freezing again this evening.
