Norfolk man arrested on several drug charges

A Norfolk man is in jail on drug charges after police responded to a welfare check over the weekend.

NORFOLK - A Norfolk man is in jail on drug charges after police responded to a welfare check over the weekend.

The Norfolk Police Division says officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of S. 13th Street for a check welfare on Sunday just after midnight.

Officers arrived and had contact with 20-year-old Lucus Austin, of Norfolk. 

During this contact, officers believed that Austin was under the influence of controlled substances.

During the investigation, officers recovered dried Psilocin mushrooms, 269 THC vape pens, and other forms of THC wax, LSD, and marijuana.

Austin was arrested for possession of controlled substance (LSD), possession of controlled substance (Psilocin), possession with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana more than 1lb and no drug tax stamp.

He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
