BEATRICE – Three persons were injured in an accident between a van and semitrailer truck Wednesday, about five miles east of Clatonia.

Gage County Sheriff’s officers say the truck hauling corn was westbound on Nebraska Highway 41, driven by 20-year-old Zane Gansemier, of Nehawka.  He slowed to make a turn south on Southwest 29th Road….observing an oncoming vehicle.

Gansemier told authorities he began to make his turn after the oncoming vehicle passed him but did not see an eastbound van.  The 2005 Chrysler van, driven by 31-year-old Bridgette Korbel, of Wilber was unable to avoid the collision with the truck.

Korbel and two children in the van were taken to Bryan West Health Center in Lincoln, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.   Gansemier was not hurt.

The truck driver was cited for failure to yield.  The collision happened at around 12:45 p.m.
