One final witness, called by the prosecution, appeared on the stand on Tuesday in the trial of Bailey Boswell. Boswell, along with Aubrey Trail, was accused of murdering and dismembering Sydney Loofe in 2017. Trail was convicted in 2019.

The final witness for the prosecution was Mike Maseth, the FBI special agent who led the investigation into Loofe's disappearance. Jurors heard phone calls between investigators and Boswell as they tried to find the location of both Loofe and Boswell. Maseth also detailed how investigators discovered Boswell’s location, even after she wiped the data from her phone.

After Maseth’s testimony, both the defense and the prosecution laid out their closing statement. In between, Boswell’s attorney, Todd Lancaster, made a motion to dismiss the charges, claiming that Aubrey Trail committed the crime and that there was no intent on Boswell’s behalf to harm Loofe. The motion was denied by District Judge Vicky Johnson, and closing arguments proceeded in the afternoon.

With the end of the trial looming, the families of both Boswell and Loofe were in attendance. Jurors will convene on Wednesday morning to begin deliberation.
