Nebraska State Patrol, County Officers Investigate Alleged Threats in Eagle

Law officers recover gun and cell phone, but don't find person

EAGLE - The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a report of a man allegedly making terroristic threats Monday night, in community of Eagle.

The Nebraska State Patrol received information at about 6:20 p.m. from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office regarding a 911 call originating from the town.

The call described an armed person making threats. The person was reportedly driving a Cadillac SUV but had stopped at a residence along Highway 34 in Eagle.

State Troopers responded to the scene, along with sheriff’s deputies from Cass and Lancaster Counties. NSP SWAT and Crisis Negotiators were also activated and traveled to the scene.  After several hours of trying to contact the person, the NSP obtained a search warrant for the home. A SWAT unit executed the search warrant but found the person was not inside the home.

Troopers found a cell phone and handgun inside the residence. The investigation remains ongoing.
