FALLS CITY, Neb. – It was homecoming night under the lights on Friday as the Irish of Falls City Sacred Heart played host and won decisively over the Eagles of Johnson Brock in a 46-6 fashion.

The Irish defense managed to pick of Eagles starting quarterback Caleb Fossenbarger a total of 3 times, as on the first play from scrimmage Falls City Sacred Heart middle linebacker and captain Jack Freigener ran a pick-six from 23 yards out. The Irish would then rely on the run game to finish off their drives, as senior running back Del Casteel ran only 11 times for 73 yards and recorded 3 touchdowns on the night.

Fossenbarger was replaced in the second half with Freshman backup quarterback Sam Pelican who went 3 of 4 passing and lead the only scoring drive for Johnson Brock capped off by a 2-yard rushing touchdown by sophomore running back Cole Robeson.

Falls City Sacred Heart’s quarterback Jakob Jordan threw 10 for 15 with 136 yards through the air, and threw his first interception of the year, picked off by Caleb Fossenbarger. However, Jordan also picked off Fossenbarger twice, and threw for a 30-yard touchdown to Junior end Jack Froeschl, the only touchdown through the air this game. Irish Junior Running back Tyler Catlin would also carry the rock 3 times for 15 yards and a touchdown.

Johnson Brock falls to a 1-4 record and will return home next week to face Omaha Christian Academy. Falls City Sacred Heart improves to a 4-1 record, and will travel to Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinhauer whom did not play last week due to COVID-19 restrictions.
