9th Annual Monument Marathon is this weekend

Marathon runners from across the country are headed to Scottsbluff this weekend to experience the beautiful scenery as they participate in the Monument Marathon run.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Marathon runners from across the country are headed to Scottsbluff this weekend to experience the beautiful scenery as they participate in the Monument Marathon run. The course will bring runners along part of the Oregon Trail as the course traverses through Mitchell Pass and around Scotts Bluff National Monument which rises 800 ft. above the North Platte Valley.

The run is open to full and half marathon runners as well as 5k participants.

The marathon start-end finish line is at Five Rocks Amphitheater, and starts at 7 a.m. for full and half marathon runners, with the awards ceremony starting at 12 p.m.
