Panhandle Public Health officials announced Saturday morning a student at Alliance Public Schools has tests positive for the coronavirus. 

The student is an elementary school student, according to a news release from Panhandle Public Health District. They were last in school on Monday, August 24. Alliance Public Schools is working with health officials to identify those who may be close contacts. Those who need to quarantine will be directly notified by public health officials.

Health officials said Friday that an employee at the Verizon store in Chadron had tested positive for COVID-19. If you were at the store during the following times, you are asked to monitor your symptoms and get tested if you begin feeling ill.

Times are as follows: 

- Tuesday, August 25, from 11:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

- Wednesday, August 26, from 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

- Thursday, August 27, from 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

The store will be closed over the weekend and will reopen Monday, August 31, with staff from a different store. They will operate on limited hours and by appointment only.
