Teenager tells Omaha police he was shot on porch while talking to friends

Omaha police say a teenager was shot Friday night.

OMAHA - Omaha police say a teenager was shot Friday night.

Officers were called to the 5000 block of North 33rd Avenue for a shooting around 11 p.m.

Upon arrival they found 18-year-old Karnell Bass suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Bass said he had been talking with friends on the porch, when suddenly, shots were heard and he was struck by gunfire.

No further information was provided.
