NORFOLK, NE — After two seasons on college basketball rosters, former Norfolk High two-sport star Logan Strom is giving college football a shot.

The former Panther announced on Twitter Tuesday that he accepted a scholarship to play football at Weber State.

“My collegiate athletic career has not been traditional by any means, but like Sinatra always said, 'I did it my way!' Can’t wait to get to work,” Strom said.

Strom will be a junior tight end for Weber State.

The 2017 graduate spent two seasons on Division One basketball rosters.  He redshirted at UC-Davis during the 2017-18 season before transferring to the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  He sat out the 2018-19 season because of transfer rules and has not been on the roster since.

Strom, listed at 6-7 and 240 pounds, excelled at football and basketball at Norfolk. He helped lead the Panthers to the Class A State Basketball Championship in 2017, the school’s first in 30 years. He averaged 16.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

Strom helped the Panthers’ football team to a 6-4 record his senior season.  According to Rivals, he held football offers from 10 schools including Wyoming, Cincinnati and Buffalo.

Weber State is an FCS team that plays in the Big Sky Conference. The Wildcats have tied for their conference title the last three seasons and have made four straight trips to the FCS playoffs.  Weber State is located in Ogden, Utah.
