National Weather Service Confirms Tornado in Southeast Wyoming During Early June Storms

A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service has determined that a tornado briefly touched down during an early June storm. 

The National Weather Service says the tornado occurred on the afternoon of June 6th in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. It was about 14 miles southwest of Arlington, Wyoming and near the Turpin Reservoir. 

The tornado uprooted several trees and snapped many others. The National Weather Service concluded the tornado was an EF-1 with peak wind speeds of around 105 miles per hour. 

The path of the tornado was about 1.2 miles long and the damage was 600 yards wide at its widest point. 

The tornado lasted for about 6 minutes, according to the National Weather Service.
