4 people injured in fiery crash after driver ran red light, police say

Four people were injured in a crash early Thursday morning where police said a driver ran a red light.

OMAHA - Four people were injured in a crash early Thursday morning where police said a driver ran a red light.

In a tweet, Sgt. Jason Menning said a Cadillac ran a red light at 34th Street and Ames Avenue shortly after midnight. Police said an eastbound Ford crashed into it and caught fire. Crews had to extinguish the blaze.

Investigators said one of the victims suffered critical injuries. The other three people had serious injuries. All four were transported to Nebraska Medicine for treatment. Their names have not yet been released.

Police have not yet said whether anyone was charged in connection to the case.
