NORTH PLATTE, Neb. - As good weather approaches people are looking to vacation outdoors.

However, Nebraska Game and Parks has implemented restrictions as to keep people safe during the pandemic.

On Wednesday, Game and Parks lifted restrictions on certain campsites, but didn't address hot spots such as Lake McConaughy and other areas in Western Nebraska.

Many sites will be open for day use but are restricted to 10 people or less.

A group in Nebraska is claiming the rules aren't fair and have created a petition to allow everyone to utilize campsites for overnight use.

"I understand you don't have working facilities, water, sewer, electricity in a tent. But, there are those people that carry their potable water with them and have other means of using the restroom," said outdoor enthusiast Tyson Milam.

"My park sticker and my fishing permit are good from January 1st to December 31st. Now you're putting a restriction on when I can and can't use my park sticker and when I can and can't use my fishing permit?"

Milam created a petition on Change.org and is expecting to receive 25,000 signatures.
