NEBRASKA CITY- Otoe County Clerk Jennifer Bassinger recently addressed the Rotary Club Of Nebraska City regarding the preparations polling places have been taking to ensure safety during the May 12th election.

Bassinger explained that even though some volunteers were not comfortable working during the May 12th election this year.  Several others have come forward, and there are even enough volunteers to have backups in case any situations would arise where someone was unable to work.

The volunteers working at polling places in Otoe County will be provided with gloves, masks, face shields, hand sanitizer, and will be practicing social distancing. The State Of Nebraska will also be providing voters with disposable masks and pens this year.

Bassinger stated that polling places will be open from 8am-8pm on Tuesday, May 12 for voters.  With many ballots being mailed in this year, Bassinger said that we might see record voting numbers, as voters make their way to polling places on Tuesday.
