LINCOLN - A local non-profit is offering childcare to families who may need it most during the COVID-19 pandemic.

CEDARS has announced that it has openings at its Northbridge Early Childhood Center, and they are all being made available to families with essential workers.

"We are reaching out to law enforcement, the medical community, anywhere else where folks are in essential-working jobs to let them know that we are here for them so they can concentrate on their vitally important work while we take great care of their kids," CEDARS President and CEO Jim Blue shared.

Blue added that the nationally-accredited facility, located near 27th and Holdrege, will be strictly following all state and federal safety guidelines including the 10-person per room gathering limit. In addition they will work with families needing financial support.

"We just really want to have a safe and fun developmental opportunity here for the kids while their parents go to work."
