NORFOLK - Norfolk parks and recreation areas are now following the Directed Health Measure Orders for Madison County to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The City of Norfolk Parks and Recreation Division announced Tuesday that the City’s athletic facilities are now closed to organized practices and games until further notice.

The City is also closing all playgrounds in parks starting Tuesday.

The Parks and Recreation Division will keep some general use bathrooms in some parks open and will implement extra disinfecting procedures.

Booked reservations for the rental cabins and open air shelters have been canceled through April 30th and the City will not be taking any new reservations until further notice.

Officials are asking that residents follow the general health recommendations set by the CDC in city parks and green spaces by practicing social distancing.
