Norfolk Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint

Norfolk authorities are investigating a late Monday night robbery.

NORFOLK - Norfolk authorities are investigating a late Monday night robbery.

It happened just before 11 p.m. at the Speedee Mart at 1st and Omaha Ave. in Norfolk.

Employees told police that a man wearing all black clothing with his face covered entered the store, brandished a handgun and demanded cash.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene on foot.

Police say the man tried to steal a parked car on the west side of the business in which to get away, but was unable to get inside.

No one was hurt.

The robber is described as light-complected, average weight and about 5'5''.
