Emerson Police receive bullet proof vests

A state-wide organization has given life-saving equipment to a northeast Nebraska police department.

EMERSON - A state-wide organization has given life-saving equipment to a northeast Nebraska police department.

According to a news release from the The League Association of Risk Management, Emerson Police Chief Charles Chinn applied for the funds and was recently presented a bullet proof vest.

A requirement for the program is that the member police departments be required to show they have a mandatory wear policy for their officers.

LARM is an insurance pool made up of 170 governmental agencies. It provides coverage and risk management services to communities and governmental agencies in Nebraska.
