NORFOLK -  Authorities say card skimmers have been been found at four Norfolk gas stations in what police are calling a "criminal enterprise".

According to Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer, credit card skimming devices have been located on one pump at Casey’s West, Casey's North, Hy-Vee West, and Louie’s Liquor in Norfolk.

All pumps have been inspected and the skimmer was removed. Only one skimmer was found at each location.

Bauer says this type of crime has happened before, but not to this scale.

“Not to this magnitude. We have had skimmers in the Norfolk area before. It’s an uncommon thing to happen. However, as this shows that we’re not immune to any crime or crimes that are out there.” Bauer says.

Police say the suspect is described as a Hispanic male driving a beige SUV.

Authorities say there is a second passenger in the car with the suspect with an unknown description.

Bauer says he would be surprised if the suspect is from Norfolk because crimes like these typical jump from town-to-town.

He says with the discovery of the skimmers, he hopes that they have stopped the continuation of the crime.

“With the discovery of the first skimmer and then the subsequent discoveries, we have interrupted the criminal enterprise where they will not be able to access the information that is on those skimmers.” Bauer says.

Bauer urges anyone who bought gas at these locations to monitor your bank accounts and report fraudulent activity to your bank and the local authorities.

LOCATIONS WHERE CARD SKIMMERS HAVE BEEN FOUND:

Casey's West: 2640 W. Norfolk Ave.

Casey's North: 1020 W. Benjamin Ave.

Hy-Vee West: 2310 Market Lane

Louie's Liquor: 811 S. 13th St.
