Youth Philanthropy Contest Gives Kids a Chance to Make a Difference
The Philanthropy Council of Northeast Nebraska is encouraging young people from Kindergarten to age 25 to think about how they can make our community a better place by participating in the 2020 Youth Philanthropy Contest.
The Philanthropy Council of Northeast Nebraska is encouraging young people from Kindergarten to age 25 to think about how they can make our community a better place by participating in the 2020 Youth Philanthropy Contest.
The goal of this contest is to help students learn about giving back to their communities in a hands-on, meaningful way. Students can use their creativity, compassion, and love of their community to make a difference, right here in their own backyards.
- 10 Contest winners will receive up to $1,000 to complete their projects.
- Applications are due January 25th, 2020 by 11:30am.
- Students in grades K – age 25 are eligible.
- Individuals, small groups, clubs and classrooms are all invited to participate.

Highlights from the past 8 years
- 179 total projects were submitted by hundreds of students in multiple counties
- 148 projects have been fully funded
- Over $134,000 worth of youth created and implemented philanthropic projects being completed in our area
- 110 youth participated in the Youth Philanthropy Contest in 2019

The public is invited to join us on Saturday January 25th at 3:30pm for the Youth Contest Showcase at the Norfolk Public Library. All youth contest projects will be on display. Participants will be asked to talk about their projects during a short program and winners will be announced. This is a free event and open to the public.
