OMAHA - A Bennington woman is died after a car crash in northwest Omaha.

It happened Thursday night at the intersection of 144th and Fort Streets near Standing Bear Lake.

Omaha police say 64-year old Dianne Downey of Bennington was westbound on Fort when her car veered off the road and hit a tree.

She later died at the hospital.

Police say a possible medical condition and a lack of seat belt use are being investigated as contributing factors.
