NORFOLK - Norfolk Fire officials have released more information about a house fire near 18th and Prospect.

According to a news release from the Norfolk Fire Division, officials say firefighters were dispatched to 1911 W. Prospect at 11:13 a.m. for a house on fire.

On arrival, crews saw heavy smoke coming from the back of the home.

Fire Chief Scott Cordes says it took around 27 firefighters and 6 rigs about 30 minutes to control the blaze.

Officials say the fire caused around $80,000 in damage and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Norfolk Fire Division was assisted by the Norfolk Police Division, Red Cross, Salvation Army, NPPD, Hadar Fire and Black Hills Energy.
