Three Bystanders hit while watching Street Racing

Three people in Omaha were hit by a car while gathering for street racing Friday night.

OMAHA - Three people in Omaha were hit by a car while gathering for street racing Friday night.

Our news partners KETV reports that Officers said 29-year-old Daniel Ramirez was driving under the influence when he lost control of his car, hit a median, street sign and three people.

The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. near Abbot Drive and Crown Point Avenue.

KETV reports that a minor, an 18-year-old and 22-year-old were injured. The 18-year-old and minor went to Nebraska Medicine with possible serious injuries.

Police did not say whether Ramirez had been racing or what influence they suspect him of being under while behind the wheel.

Ramirez faces charges of DUI, no insurance and reckless driving.

Police have not said whether anyone else will be cited.
