BEATRICE - An east Beatrice intersection was closed Thursday, as Norris Public Power District crews do some electric transmission upgrade work.
Four bucket trucks were being used at the intersection of 19th and Hoyt requiring the intersection to be closed. A half-block of 19th was barricaded to the north.
Jeremy Russell is a Foreman with Norris Public Power District.

Russell says its' a somewhat rare project, since Norris does not have many poles located within the City of Beatrice boundaries. Russell says the transmission upgrade work being done at the intersection will take just one day.
That will be followed by additional work to the north, next week…..on about eight poles along North 19th Street. Russell says that will require at least a partial closure of 19th.
