ADAMS, NE - Johnson-Brock's hopes of heading back to the State Tournament in Lincoln were dashed by the Freeman Falcons on Monday, 60-36, as heard on B103. The Eagles were the 3-time defending champs in Class D1, but they came up just short of a trip to Lincoln in Class C2 this season, ending the year with a 22-5 record. Freeman will advance with a mark of 19-5.

The game was all knotted up at 22 at the break, but Freeman's defense came to play in the third quarter, holding JB to just four points. The Falcons had all the momentum & a 43-26 lead going into the fourth. Brody Koehler was the lone Eagle in double digits at 17 points. Hayden Jansen hit for 18, and Owen Buss drained 14 for Freeman, who connected on eleven 3-pointers in the victory.
