Assault, drug and weapons charges in weekly Valentine Police report

Valentine police officers made several arrests last week, including for assault, drug and weapons charges.

During the week of February 22nd to February 28th, the following arrests were made by the Valentine Police Department:

At 2:10 AM on February 22nd, a report of an intoxicated person at the intersection of 2nd and Main Streets lead to the arrest of a 21 year old South Dakota man on the charge of Procuring Alcohol for a Minor.

 On February 23rd at 8:00 PM, a disturbance report in the 100 block of North Cherry Street lead to the arrest of a 52 year old Nebraska man for the offense of Third Degree Domestic Assault.

 At 9:15 AM on February 26th, officers responded to an assault complaint in the 100 block of North Main Street.  A 44 year old Nebraska man was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault.

 On February 27th, at 4:55 PM, a traffic contact in the 300 block of East Highway 20 lead to the arrest of two South Dakota men, one age 18 and the other age 20, on drug and weapons charges.

 In all the police department responded to 40 calls during the week, including:

3 domestic disturbances

2 city ordinance violations

5 traffic stops

4 animal complaints

1 non-injury accident

2 theft complaints

1 assault

2 disturbances
