Wildfire risk racing toward extremes in River Country

Grass fire risk expected through Wednesday

 NEBRASKA CITY- River Country is in the moderate risk category for wildfire today, but joins 95 other Nebraska counties Tuesday in the extreme high risk on Tuesday.

Gusty winds, temperatures over 70 degrees and humidity below 30 percent are expected.

The wildfire risk is forecast as very high on Wednesday.

Near record high temperatures to start the week are expected to yield to lows in the teens Friday through Sunday.
