GRAND ISLAND, Neb.- A newborn calf at the Nebraska State Fair gets his name from a popular Nebraska football player.

Archie from Beatrice’s “Moo Crew” was born August 20, just a day before the cows came to the Nebraska State Fair.

The Holstein calf gets his name from the Husker punter Archie Wilson.

Wilson is a 19-year-old Australian freshman, who went viral for his press conference on August 12.

During the conference Wilson broke down crying after he was asked about spending his birthday away from family for the first time.

“He’s away from home, so that’s how we came up with the name,” Don Esau from the Moo Crew said.

Archie and the rest of the dairy cows will be at the fair until September 1st.
