NEBRASKA CITY – Police investigated a Subaru stuck on the Union Pacific crossing on Central Avenue at 1:58 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

A radio report indicates the driver attempted to turn north at the tracks not realizing there wasn’t a road there. All four tires of the Subaru went off the edge of the concrete.

The Union Pacific put a hold on the tracks from 2:15 to 2:50 a.m.

County officials also responded to a fireworks complaint in Dunbar north of McGinley Street.

There was also a report of sign damage near Highway 75 and R Road and a possible DUI complaint near Steinhart Park Road at 4:31 a.m.

In Cass County, Plattsmouth fire was dispatched on New Year’s Eve when a firework went through the metal sheeting of a mobile home on south 15th Street and was stuck in the drywall. The fire department found no fire concerns.
