GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A man going to McDonald's Tuesday morning ended up going to the hospital where he would later be pronounced deceased.

69-year-old Michael Dickinson was in the drive-thru lane at the McDonald's on Hwy 30 near downtown Grand Island a little before 10:30 a.m.

Authorities say he got out of his vehicle, and became pinned between the door and the building while the car remained left in drive by accident, according to the Grand Island Police Department.

Authorities say by the time he was freed, he needed to be taken to CHI Health St. Francis, where he ended up dying.
