Potter-Dix earns third at Class D2 state play production championships
NORFOLK, Neb. - Potter-Dix finished third at the Class D2 Nebraska School Activities Association Play Production State Championships last week at the Johnny Carson Theatre in Norfolk.
Potter-Dix earned a third-place finish with its production of The Witch’s Princess, scoring 167 points across three judges. The performance included a second-place ranking from one judge and a third-place ranking from another.
St. Mary’s captured the Class D2 state championship with And a Child Shall Lead, totaling 178 points. Arnold finished second with All for One at 172 points, while Chambers placed fourth with The Wild Flowering of Chasity. Sterling and Arcadia rounded out the field in fifth and sixth, respectively.
Outstanding performer honors in Class D2 went to Rose Woeppel of Chambers and Anna Otte of St. Mary’s. St. Mary’s also received awards for Outstanding Technical Crew and Outstanding Technical Crew Member, with Samantha Asche earning individual recognition.
In Class C1 competition, Chase County placed fifth at the state championships with its production of Badger, scoring 167 points. Elmwood-Murdock claimed the Class C1 title with Justice Wears Granny Panties, followed by Bergan Catholic and Freeman.
Ogallala competed in Class B and finished sixth with Dracula: Bootleggin’ Blood, totaling 169 points. York won the Class B state championship with Birds of Passage, edging Louisville and Gothenburg for the top spot.
