NORFOLK, Neb.— Extreme cold temperatures are expected to come into the eastern part of the state this weekend.
Some areas in the Northeast expected to see wind chills of almost -20.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for counties in the upper northeast of the state.
According to the NWS, frostbite in these conditions can occur in under an hour.
Snow is expected to start Friday afternoon going into Saturday morning.
Snowfall amounts are predicted to differ a lot this weekend depending on where you are.
Remember to drive slow and avoid distractions when driving in winter weather. The NWS recommends to pack an emergency kit with blankets, phone chargers, non-perishable foods, and water.
