AUBURN – The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office reports a fatality accident Wednesday afternoon south of Auburn on Highway 75.

A press release says a Lincoln MKC driven by 41-year-old Shawna Harkendorff of Falls City crossed into the southbound lane of the highway on the S curves near Road 726.

Harkendorff was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Andrey Shagaliyev of Winkler, Manitoba, was transported to Nemaha County Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.

The sheriff’s office says seatbelts were used by both drivers.

Auburn Fire and Rescue, the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska Game and Parks, the Nebraska Department of Transportation and the Nebraska State Patrol responded to the crash.
