UNK pushes past Emporia State with 527 yards on offense in 34-20 win
KEARNEY - Nebraska-Kearney's Isaiah Harris rushed for 270 yards and four touchdowns in the Lopers' 34-20 win over Emporia State.
UNK is now 3-1 on the season after their first win over Emporia State in Kearney since 2014.
The Lopers started the game strong with a 12-play, 98-yard drive that took almost eight minutes, capped off with a 30-yard run by Isaiah Harris.
Emporia State responded with back-to-back passing touchdowns from quarterback Ben Harris. Ethan Schultze caught a 55-yard touchdown in the late stages of the first quarter, before Kingsley Bennett gave the Hornets the lead on a 45-yard touchdown.
UNK did not go away. Isaiah Harris scored on two more rushing touchdowns before halftime to give the Lopers the lead heading into the break.
Ben Harris tied the game back up for Emporia State in the third quarter with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Mason Ford.
The game did not stay tied for long as Jahmez Ross punched a four-yard carry into the end zone to give UNK the lead once more.
UNK did not look back either. Isaiah Harris put the exclamation mark on the statement win for the Lopers with a 74-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
UNK's Daron Bryden threw 16/21 for 180 yards.
