What’s in Store for You?

After two successful years on the Gold Coast, Queensland, the Festival of FUN is making its way to Wollongong for the first time. That means you get to experience:

Live music performances featuring artists with and without disabilities.

A petting zoo where you can cuddle up with some adorable animals.

Accessible sports competitions for people of all abilities to join in the fun.

An exhibition hall packed with valuable resources for individuals with special needs and their families.

Making Fun Accessible for Everyone

Did you know that many people with disabilities struggle to attend concerts and sporting events? A recent ABC News report found that inaccessible venues and discrimination stop so many people from enjoying live events. But not here!

The Festival of FUN is designed with you in mind. From sensory-friendly spaces to fully accessible facilities and activities, everything is set up to make sure you can enjoy every moment without barriers.

A Message from the Festival’s Founder

David (Macca) McFarland, the Director and Founder of the Festival of FUN, knows how important an event like this is.

“I’ve been in the disability space as a volunteer for over 25 years, and what we’ve found is that there are no events like this, especially for families. We wanted to create an event where everyone could come together and celebrate in a truly inclusive environment. Everyone is loving, caring, and welcoming—it’s a space where people with disabilities can experience joy, community, and connection like never before.”

Be Part of the Movement

By bringing the Festival of FUN to Wollongong, the organisers are building towards something even bigger—a global festival that celebrates disability inclusion. This is more than just a one-day event; it’s a movement that bridges communities across Australia and beyond.

So, what are you waiting for? Mark your calendar for 1 March 2025, round up your friends and family, and get ready for a day of fun, connection, and celebration!
