PIERCE - The Bluejays keep finding ways to win in the late stages and they pulled it off again in Thursday night's 43-35 win over Aquinas Catholic.

This is the 9th straight season in which Pierce (7-2) and Aquinas (8-3) have met, with the series being tied at 4-4 heading into tip off.

Pierce began on a 6-0 run, but Aquinas hurried back into the action to quickly take a 7-6 lead. After one, the Monarchs led 11-10.

Aquinas carried the lead into halftime, taking momentum away from the home crowd with two deep Riley Campbell three's.

Trailing 17-14 at the half, Pierce jumped back into the driver's seat in the third quarter, with the defensive adjustments leading to offensive production.

The Bluejays held a 25-24 lead at the start of the fourth, when Riley Campbell knocked down two more massive three's to jump Aquinas back up by 7 points.

Pierce rallied back with a Haley Scholting three pointer and tied the game on the following possession. Skylar Scholting gave the Bluejays the lead 36-34 and never allowed the Monarchs to hit another field goal.

Skylar Scholting led the Bluejay's in scoring with 16 points, followed by Hadley Wragge with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Haley Scholting added 7 points, all coming in the fourth quarter.

Riley Campbell knocked down four three-pointers to cap off her 16-point night. Faith Samek added 9 points.
