BEATRICE – By daylight Sunday morning, areas of southeast Nebraska had received one to five inches of snow, but much more is expected by the time a winter storm blows through the region.

Areas of northern and central Kansas had already seen four to ten inches of snow in some areas…..by daylight Sunday.

Numerous churches across the region canceled services for Sunday, in the wake of a Blizzard Warning issued for border areas of Nebraska and Kansas. Other areas of Nebraska were included in a Winter Storm Warning or Winter Weather Advisory.

Some areas saw a brief period of freezing rain or sleet before the snow began in southeast Nebraska, early Saturday night.

National Weather Service forecasters have said most of the snow will end before early Monday morning.   Monday morning temperatures are expected to drop into the single digits or below zero, with wind chills across eastern Nebraska ranging from zero to twenty-below zero.
