Millions of people in rural Bangladesh are affected by a lack of essential vitamins and minerals in their diets due to poverty, frequent natural disasters, and cultural beliefs or customs related to food, explains a spokesperson for the organization. Through robust partnerships with local non-governmental organizations and government agencies, Lotus Ministry Trust works to provide recipients with meals that meet both their nutritional and cultural needs. These meals include local staples such as rice, lentils, and vegetables, along with cooking oil and spices for flavor and balanced nutrition.
Lotus Ministry Trust strategically distributes the meals with the help of local volunteers and partners at community centers, schools, and places of worship to reach those most in need. So far, they have served over 100,000 individuals across Bangladesh.
The charity also provides home deliveries for those who are unable to travel to the distribution centers, such as children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. Moreover, the organization plans to expand its food relief efforts to reach 50,000 more people in the coming years.
Volunteer opportunities are currently available in food distribution, fundraising, and outreach. Donations can be made directly through Lotus Ministry Trust’s website or indirectly through participation in fundraising events.
About Lotus Ministry Trust
Founded in 2021 by Jeff Dunan, Lotus Ministry Trust serves residents of rural northern Bangladesh and orphaned children in underprivileged communities, helping them access basic needs like food and education. The organization’s food aid solutions aim to provide immediate relief while promoting sustainable development. In addition to food relief, Lotus Ministry Trust is planning projects to widen access to clean water and provide educational support in the region.
“Our primary objective is to ensure that no one goes hungry, regardless of their circumstances,” a charity representative said. “We aim to empower communities by providing not just food, but also education and resources to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency. This holistic approach is what sets us apart and drives us to make a lasting impact.”
